Song: Nordic Fantasy
YouTube Channel: Mystic Lady Ambiance
I had awakened to a rare event.
Rain...
not a deluge...
but it lasted for a couple of hours.
I made Bandi and me our one big meal for the day in the afternoon...
Rotisserie Chicken...
Stuffing...
Sauerkraut...
and some Cheese.
I usually eat the legs and thighs and give the rest to Bandi...
one bite at a time by hand.
With the rain gone...
there remained a light mist on the mountains.
I then decided to take Bandi on a short drive down and back up the mountain.
This is how Bandi usually hangs out the rear driver's side window
so she may have the wind in her face.
I took these photos while driving by holding my iPhone out the driver's side window.
I just dropped off a bag of garbage into a receptacle at the community center...
and we are going back home.
With my trash compactor...
I really don't have to do this more than once or twice a week at most.
I usually combine it with my mail box check...
but Bandi loves the short trip so much...
I don't mind going even when I don't need to.
As I usually drive with all of my car windows open...
Bandi gets excited and goes from window to window looking outside...
but her favored window is this one...
as she loves to hang her body outside as I drive.
Whenever she sees any wildlife...
she really gets excited...
and she just stares at them.
She doesn't whine or bark at them...
but she just stares intently.
A few hours later...
it began to lightly snow.
There remained a mystical mist hanging on the mountain...
and the nice glow from it as the sun set...
added a surreal effect.
--------------
Having a dog makes all the difference in the world up here.
Bandi makes me laugh at the things she does...
and she shows so much joy in almost everything she does up here.
It makes me feel good just watching her enjoy herself...
just as a father watches his children play.
I just love making her happy.
She makes such a good companion.
She is really going to love the places I will be taking her in a couple of months...
once all of the areas that are still closed due to snow are reopened.
-----------------
I haven't been doing any outdoor projects lately, as April and May here
are supposed to be the snowiest or rainiest months of the year
(although at this altitude...
the rain soon turns to snow after a couple of hours).
A combination of high altitude and storm clouds
can be dangerous as lightning strikes can come at anytime.
Being in a tree loaded with metal would just make me a lightning rod.
So...
unless the skies are fairly clear...
I just don't do any outdoor projects.
---------------
So...
I have been mentally organizing the next book I wish to write...
and I am slowly working on my next song as well.
Until I rebuild callouses on my fingers...
I can't play the guitar too long during any one session.
But...
I have all the time in the world.
I am also catching up on The Blacklist series on my iPad.
I usually watch it in bed until I get sleepy at night.
During the day...
I will be catching up on my reading...
as I really don't have any more immediate indoor projects to complete.
Later next month...
Bandi and I will be going on many an adventure...
some by trike...
some on foot...
and others by car as we just drive to new places.
Ha, it must be such a joy to see Bandi enjoying the car rides.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing her get all excited on car rides. She just loves hanging out the window and face surfing the wind.
