This morning...
my elder sister, Bandi, and I drove up to the top of Pikes Peak.
James (my sister's husband)...
decided to just rest at home...
as he had seen it before.
Pikes Peak is the tallest mountain to the left.
I can actually see Pikes Peak from home.
We are in Woodland Park on our way to the Hwy turnoff for Pikes Peak...
which is on the other side of Woodland Park...
near Manitou Springs.
I was surprised to see several cyclists climbing the mountain...
supermen.
It was a perfect 52 F (11.1 C)
I live in the dark green mountain range facing Pikes Peak...
just this side of the brown area in the distance.
I live about 4 miles northeast of the town of Cripple Creek.
Although I couldn't make out the exact location of my housing area...
I believe it was somewhere in these mountains pictured...
perhaps more to the left...
just outside of this picture...
most likely in the rear taller mountains.
They also have of cog railway that takes people to the top
from its lower station in Manitou Springs.
We had a good time there.
It is another must see location in the Colorado Springs area.
We then drove back home and picked up James for lunch at a German Pub...
in Woodland Park.
(I didn't realize until we got home that they have another BierWerks in Cripple Creek
in the largest casino there...The Chamonix)
Both, James and I had a nonalcoholic beer (Blonde)...
while my sister had a craft beer.
I really liked the taste of Blonde.
It was so smooth and was not bitter at all.
In this pub...
they had a moveable race course which held the regular customer's own mug.
My sister had ordered a soft pretzel with cheese dip.
I had some...
and it was so good.
We also had a salami and cheese platter to share.
I also had a Brat with sauerkraut.
I really liked this German Pub.
And now that I know where the other one is located...
I will be visiting it in the future.
Tomorrow...
I think we will be taking it easy at home.
We are all a little worn out from our travels.
